AustCham Shanghai, in partnership with the Wuzhong District and with the support of the Wuzhong District Investment Promotion Center, will host the "Jiangsu Suzhou Trade and Investment Visit" on Friday, March 20, 2026 in Suzhou.

Building on the success of previous Yangtze River Delta events, this gathering was designed to deepen the cooperative relationships between Australian businesses and key stakeholders in Jiangsu Suzhou.

The first site visit will focus on Suzhou Comprehensive Innovation Center for Embodied AI Robots (A Suzhou-based innovation and incubation platform for embodied AI robotics), followed by visiting Suzhou Inovance Technology Co., Ltd. (A leading company in industrial automation, robotics, and new energy technologies) in the afternoon. These visits offer a firsthand look at Suzhou's manufacturing capabilities and business environment.

Wuzhong District is located at the geographical center of Suzhou and at the heart of the Yangtze River Delta economic zone. It borders Suzhou Old Town, the Industrial Park, and the High-Tech Zone to the north; Wujiang District to the south; Kunshan to the east; and Taihu Lake to the west. Suzhou, Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Nanjing are all within a two-hour travel radius. The district covers a land area of 745 square kilometers, with 1,486 square kilometers of Taihu Lake, accounting for three-fifths of the lake’s total area. Administratively, it consists of 1 national-level Taihu Tourism Resort, 1 national-level Economic and Technological Development Zone, 1 national-level Xishan Agricultural Demonstration Park, 1 provincial-level High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, and 7 towns and 7 subdistricts, with a registered population of 804,000.
Wuzhong District adheres to the development strategy of “industrial strength and innovation leadership,” focusing on three core industries: “Robotics + Artificial Intelligence,” “New Energy + Intelligent Vehicles,” and “Biomedicine + Health & Wellness.” It also actively cultivates two emerging industries: low-altitude economy and advanced new materials, while strategically planning for future industries such as industrial metaverse, third-generation semiconductors, and next-generation green energy, accelerating the formation of the “3+2+N” key industry clusters. The district consistently ranks at the top in indicators such as industrial output above designated size, industrial value-added above designated size, and high-tech industry output.
The district is home to 23 listed companies, including leading intelligent manufacturing enterprises such as Lude Harmonics, Inovance United Power, Ricoda, Weichuang Electric, and Dongshan Precision. Additionally, industry leaders such as Ecovacs and Dreame, together with rising embodied intelligence startups like Magic Atom, Luming Technology, Lexiang Technology, and Uriche, are rapidly gathering, creating a significant advantage in industrial tiers.

The Wuzhong Investment Promotion Center was established as a district-level platform for investment promotion and enterprise services in response to the new situation of an open economy, and to actively explore innovations in investment promotion mechanisms. The center is primarily responsible for promoting investment within the district, attracting key emerging industry projects, facilitating enterprise transformation and upgrading, coordinating major regional investment projects, organizing promotional activities, and supporting project implementation and enterprise follow-up services.
苏州吴中区投资促进中心是吴中区为适应开放型经济新形势、积极探索招商体制机制创新而设立的区级招商引资和企业服务平台。中心主要承担区内投资促进工作任务，引进重点新兴产业项目，推动企业转型升级，协调区域重大招商项目，组织开展招商活动，推进项目落地及企业跟踪服务。
